PROPERTY/PUBLIC: Authorizes the transfer of state property in Rapides Parish
1 AN ACT
2To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer
3 of certain state property in Rapides Parish; to provide for the property description;
4 to provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; to
5 provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. The commissioner of administration, notwithstanding any other provision
8of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease,
9or deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have to all or any portion of
10the following described parcel of property to the St. Mary's Residential Training School:
11 Commence at the Northeast corner of Section 74, T4N-R2W. From said
12 corner bear N74E42'W for 2240.6' to the point of beginning.
13 Thence from the point of beginning continue N74E42'W along the North
14 boundary of Section 74 for 104', thence bear N29E34'E for 1389.95', thence bear
15 S64E21'E along the South boundary of Louisiana Highway #1 for 101', thence bear
16 S29E34'W along the line common to Sections 20 and 21 for 1371.22' back to the
17 point of beginning.
18 The forementioned closed traverse contains 3.19 acres and is a part of Section
19 20, T4N-R2W, Rapides Parish, Louisiana. It is shown on a plat of survey by Stephen
20 Barrett Gremillion dated July 31, 1984.
21 Section 2. The commissioner of administration is hereby authorized to enter into
22such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents as
23necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of
24title, excluding mineral rights, to the property described in Section 1 of this Act, and as more
25specifically described in any such agreements entered into and documents executed by and

1between the commissioner of administration and the St. Mary's Residential Training School,
2in exchange for consideration proportionate to the appraised value of the property.
3 Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
4signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
5by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
6vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
7effective on the day following such approval.
