Louisiana House Bill HB336 Comm Sub / Analysis

                    RÉSUMÉ DIGEST
ACT 215 (HB 336) 2019 Regular Session	Lyons
Existing law, the Behavioral Health Services Provider Licensing Law, authorizes the La.
Dept. of Health (LDH) to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of persons receiving
behavioral health services through the licensure and regulation of behavioral health services
providers. Exempts certain types of providers from the requirement for licensure, including
school-based health clinics and centers that are certified by LDH, office of public health, and
enrolled in the La. Medicaid program.
New law retains existing law and also exempts from behavioral health services licensure
requirements an individual who provides school-based health services through a local public
school governing authority if the exemption is applicable to only school-based behavioral
health services provided through the Medicaid Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and
Treatment program.
Effective August 1, 2019.
