R.S. 32:408.1(A)(3) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 8 ยง408.1. Third-party testing; proof of testing 9 A. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety services, 10 may contract with or license another state, an employer, a private driver training 11 facility, driver education course provider, or other private institution, or a 12 department, agency, or instrumentality of a local government to administer the skills 13 tests as specified herein if all of the following conditions are met: 14 * * * 15 (3) The third party has a contract or license with the department to 16 administer skills tests for Class "A", "B", or "C" driver's licenses which, at minimum, 17 complies with 49 CFR 383.75. Present law requires third-party testers administering driving skills tests for Class "A", "B", or "C" driver's licenses maintain a surety bond in the amount of $10,000. Proposed law increases the surety bond amount in the present law requirement from $10,000 to $40,000.
