ACT 217 (HB 357) 2019 Regular Session Jefferson
Authorizes the president of Grambling State University to redesignate Stadium and Facilities
Drive, located on the campus of Grambling State University, as "Doug Williams Drive".
Authorizes the parish of Lincoln, the city of Grambling, or Grambling State University to
erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation.
Existing law specifies that existing law does not prohibit local municipal authorities from
adopting ordinances regulating highways, other than state maintained highways, within their
corporate limits.
New law provides an exception that authorizes the Board of Supervisors for the University
of La. System to adopt a resolution to exercise exclusive jurisdiction, control, maintenance,
or enforcement of traffic and parking regulations on any portion of a public road located
within the boundaries of Grambling State University by designating that portion of the
public road as a university road and posting appropriate signs on the road.
