Abstract: Adds authority to the La. Physical Therapy Board.
Present law provides for the powers, duties, and limitations of the La. Physical Therapy Board (the
board).
Proposed law adds to the powers of the board by authorizing the board to determine and collect, at
the time of new licensure or licensure renewal, a core set of data deemed necessary for workforce
planning.
Proposed law provides that the data elements shall be used to create and maintain a healthcare
workforce database.
Proposed law authorizes the board to enter into agreements with private or public entities to establish
and maintain the database.
Proposed law requires the board to promulgate rules to perform duties pursuant to proposed law.
