Existing law provides that the commissioner of agriculture and forestry is an ex officio
member of the La. Agricultural Commodities Commission.
New law authorizes a designee of the commissioner to serve in place of the commissioner.
Prior law required the affirmative vote of five members of the commission to take official
actions.
New law changes the requirement to a majority vote of members that are present and voting.
Effective Aug. 1, 2019.
