A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To designate Wednesday, May 29, 2019, as LA Public Education Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, during this time of year, students are either graduating from high school
or are being promoted from middle school to high school or from elementary school to
middle school; and
WHEREAS, as the 2018-2019 school year comes to a close, school boards,
superintendents, principals, teachers, and staff are already planning for the new school year
to come, thus attesting to their never-ending commitment to educate the children of the state
of Louisiana; and 
WHEREAS, public education is essential to the well-being of the state of Louisiana;
and
WHEREAS, public education is comprised of school boards, traditional and charter
public schools, superintendents, principals, teachers, support workers, and staff that
collectively work every day to educate over 700,000 children in the state of Louisiana. 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
designate Wednesday, May 29, 2019, as LA Public Education Day at the state capitol and

does hereby recognize the vital role of public education in the greatness of the state of
Louisiana.
