Hoffmann for his pro-life leadership 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2To commend Representative Frank A. Hoffmann for his years of pro-life leadership in the 3 Legislature of Louisiana and throughout this state. 4 WHEREAS, Frank A. Hoffmann, Ed.D, has been a leading pro-life legislator since 5his election to the Louisiana House of Representatives by the citizens of House District No. 615 in 2007; and 7 WHEREAS, Representative Hoffmann has authored nine bills and numerous 8resolutions to defend life in his years at the capitol; the eight pro-life bills he filed through 9the conclusion of the 2018 legislative sessions were all passed by overwhelming margins and 10signed into law by Governors John Bel Edwards and Bobby Jindal; and 11 WHEREAS, notable pro-life laws authored by Rep. Hoffmann have included the 122010 "National Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act", the 2011 "Signs of Hope Act", the 2016 13"Defunding Abortion Industry Act", and the 2016 "Enhanced Reflection Act"; and 14 WHEREAS, during this 2016-2020 legislative term, Rep. Hoffmann has served as 15chairman of the House Committee on Health and Welfare, leading one of the most pro-life 16standing committees of the legislature ever assembled; and 17 WHEREAS, Rep. Hoffmann has served as a board member of the pregnancy 18resources center Life Choices Monroe for many years, demonstrating that his commitment 19to the pro-life cause extends beyond his tireless work at the capitol; and 20 WHEREAS, Rep. Hoffmann will retire from the legislature after the conclusion of 21the 2019 Regular Session.
