HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 55

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Representative Frank A. Hoffmann for his years of pro-life leadership in the
Legislature of Louisiana and throughout this state.
WHEREAS, Frank A. Hoffmann, Ed.D, has been a leading pro-life legislator since
his election to the Louisiana House of Representatives by the citizens of House District No.
15 in 2007; and
WHEREAS, Representative Hoffmann has authored nine bills and numerous
resolutions to defend life in his years at the capitol; the eight pro-life bills he filed through
the conclusion of the 2018 legislative sessions were all passed by overwhelming margins and
signed into law by Governors John Bel Edwards and Bobby Jindal; and
WHEREAS, notable pro-life laws authored by Rep. Hoffmann have included the
2010 "National Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act", the 2011 "Signs of Hope Act", the 2016
"Defunding Abortion Industry Act", and the 2016 "Enhanced Reflection Act"; and
WHEREAS, during this 2016-2020 legislative term, Rep. Hoffmann has served as
chairman of the House Committee on Health and Welfare, leading one of the most pro-life
standing committees of the legislature ever assembled; and
WHEREAS, Rep. Hoffmann has served as a board member of the pregnancy
resources center Life Choices Monroe for many years, demonstrating that his commitment
to the pro-life cause extends beyond his tireless work at the capitol; and
WHEREAS, Rep. Hoffmann will retire from the legislature after the conclusion of
the 2019 Regular Session.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Representative Frank A. Hoffmann for his years of pro-life leadership in this
legislative body and throughout the state.
