ELDERLY: Requests a study concerning prevention of elder abuse.
DIGEST
Authorizes and requests the governor's office of elderly affairs, the office of aging and adult
services of the La. Department of Health, the office of financial institutions, the Louisiana
Bankers Association, and the legislative auditor to study means by which this state can
reduce the incidence of elder abuse and to report findings of the study to the House
Committee on the Administration of Criminal Justice, the Senate Committee on Judiciary
C, the legislative committees on health and welfare and the Legislative Audit Advisory
Council.

Committee Amendments Proposed by Senate Committee on Health and Welfare to
the engrossed bill
1. Adds office of financial institutions and the Louisiana Bankers Association
to the study because of their expertise in the tracking and monitoring of
financial records and the vulnerability of elders to be the victims of financial
exploitation.
