SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes May 7, 2019, as Acadiana Day at the state
capitol
1 A RESOLUTION
2To recognize Tuesday, May 7, 2019, as Acadiana Day at the state capitol.
3 WHEREAS, business leaders from Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, Jefferson
4Davis, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion parishes believe that they have a
5louder voice as One Acadia than individually; and
6 WHEREAS, the business community of the Acadiana region comes to the legislature
7annually to celebrate the success that is made possible by its partnerships with economic,
8chamber, civic, and educational partners; and
9 WHEREAS, Acadiana Day also provides an opportunity for the business community
10to advocate for a set of legislative priorities that will improve the region's economic
11competitiveness, including fiscal reform, transportation, infrastructure, workforce
12development, public education, and economic development; and
13 WHEREAS, success with these priorities will require leadership and commitment
14from state government leaders and collaboration with partners from across the state.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Tuesday, May 7, 2019, as Acadiana Day at
17the state capitol and does hereby urge the citizens of Louisiana to commemorate this special
18day with appropriate events and celebrations.
