HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 105
BY REPRESENTATIVE HUVAL
A RESOLUTION
To recognize Tuesday, May 7, 2019, as Acadiana Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, business leaders from Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, Jefferson
Davis, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion parishes believe that they have a
louder voice as One Acadia than individually; and
WHEREAS, the business community of the Acadiana region comes to the legislature
annually to celebrate the success that is made possible by its partnerships with economic,
chamber, civic, and educational partners; and
WHEREAS, Acadiana Day also provides an opportunity for the business community
to advocate for a set of legislative priorities that will improve the region's economic
competitiveness, including fiscal reform, transportation, infrastructure, workforce
development, public education, and economic development; and
WHEREAS, success with these priorities will require leadership and commitment
from state government leaders and collaboration with partners from across the state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Tuesday, May 7, 2019, as Acadiana Day at
the state capitol and does hereby urge the citizens of Louisiana to commemorate this special
day with appropriate events and celebrations.
