COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Robert E.
Billiot for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions to his
district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Robert E. Billiot and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to Jefferson Parish, and the state of Louisiana, particularly
4 during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
5 Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Robert E. Billiot is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 83 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, a graduate of West Jefferson High School, Representative Billiot
11received a bachelor of arts degree from Nicholls State University; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Billiot has been a proud member of the Democratic
13Caucus and Jefferson Parish Delegation; and
14 WHEREAS, Representative Billiot's diligent committee service has included serving
15as the vice-chairman of the House Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs,
16and he has served as a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, the House
17Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Infrastructure and Resources, the House
18Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Corrections, the House
19Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, the House Committee on Retirement,
20the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, the Joint Legislative

1Committee on the Budget, the Select Committee on Disaster Recovery, and the Select
2Committee on Hurricane Recovery; and
3 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Billiot
4has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
5 WHEREAS, Robert E. Billiot will forever have a special place in the chronicles of
6the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
7 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
8of his life, Representative Billiot merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
9contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
10Louisiana House of Representatives.
11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
12Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Robert E. Billiot; does hereby
13extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly
14during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
15marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in
16Jefferson Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him
17for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy
18to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
20expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Billiot for his service to the citizens of
21Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
22body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
23prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
25Honorable Robert E. Billiot.
