HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 108

COMMENDATIONS: Commends Fire Chief Brian Drury for his years of service to
Springfield, La.
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Brian Drury, fire chief for the town of Springfield, for more than twenty years
3 of service.
4 WHEREAS, Brian Drury joined Fire Protection District 2 in Springfield in 1994,
5became assistant chief within two years, and was promoted to fire chief in 1999; and
6 WHEREAS, under his leadership, Fire Protection District 2 has achieved a Property
7Insurance Association of Louisiana rating of Class 4, an improvement of two levels above
8the Class 6 rating the district previously held; Class 1 represents exemplary fire protection;
9and
10 WHEREAS, Fire Chief Drury supervises one hundred ten square miles and four
11stations and diligently executes his duty to protect citizens in his district; his help was vital
12after the flood of 2016, and he has ably assisted residents in other disasters that have affected
13his community.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
15Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Fire Chief Brian Drury for more than twenty
16years of dedicated and highly productive service to the town of Springfield.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Fire
18Chief Brian Drury.
