COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Lutcher High School girls' powerlifting team on its
2019 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division II state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Lutcher High School girls' powerlifting team on winning the 2019
3 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division II state championship.
4 WHEREAS, on Friday, March 15, 2019, the Lutcher High School girls' powerlifting
5team completed a sensational season, earning the title of state champions for the thirteenth
6time; and
7 WHEREAS, the championship win was the culmination of another unforgettable and
8extraordinary season for Lutcher; and
9 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Melanie Louque, Raelynn Martin, Kallie
10McDonald, Shay Naquin, Lanecia Nicholas, and Quamecca Stafford on finishing first in
11their respective weight classes, to commend Caitlin Cullen and Brandi Lambert for their
12second place wins, to commend Alexis Laiche and Madison Mire for their third place wins,
13and to commend Jordan Brignac on her fourth place win; and
14 WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
15without the guidance of coaches Jon Magendie, Kelly Magendie, and Marci James, along
16with all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's
17powerlifting program; and
18 WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2019 season upholds the glorious tradition of the
19Lutcher High School athletics program, and all Lutcher High School alumni and fans
20recognize the immense pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school,
21community, and state.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Lutcher High School girls' powerlifting
3team for an outstanding performance at the 2019 Louisiana High School Athletic
4Association Division II state championship in Alexandria on March 15, 2019, that, through
5dedication, sacrifice, discipline, and sportsmanship, concluded with the team winning its
6thirteenth state championship title.
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Head
8Coach Jon Magendie.
