COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Jerry
"Truck" Gisclair for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his
contributions to his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Jerry "Truck" Gisclair and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of Jefferson and Lafourche and the state of
4 Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana
5 House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Truck Gisclair is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 54 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Gisclair is a graduate of the former Larose-Cut Off High
11School; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Gisclair has been a proud member of the Acadiana
13Delegation, Democratic Caucus, Jefferson Parish Delegation, and Rural Caucus, for which
14he served on the executive committee; and
15 WHEREAS, Representative Gisclair's diligent committee service has included
16serving as a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture and
17Rural Development, the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, the
18House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, and the Special
19Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs; and

1 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Gisclair
2has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
3 WHEREAS, Truck Gisclair will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
4history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
5 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
6of his life, Representative Gisclair merits a sincere measure of commendation for his
7singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as a member of the Louisiana
8House of Representatives.
9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
10Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Jerry "Truck" Gisclair; does
11hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
12particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
13has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
14in the parishes of Jefferson and Lafourche and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does
15hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his
16intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
18expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Gisclair for his service to the citizens of
19Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
20body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all of his colleagues for continued
21prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
23Honorable Jerry "Truck" Gisclair.
