COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable John E.
Guinn for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions to his
district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable John E. "Johnny" Guinn and to express enduring gratitude for
3 his outstanding contributions to the parishes of Calcasieu and Jefferson Davis and
4 the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of
5 the Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Johnny Guinn is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 37 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Guinn is a graduate of Jennings High School and the
11Missouri Auction School; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Guinn has been a proud member of the Acadiana
13Delegation, Republican Delegation, and Rural Caucus; and
14 WHEREAS, Representative Guinn's diligent committee service has included serving
15as a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture and Rural
16Development, the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, and the House
17Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works; and
18 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Guinn
19has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and

1 WHEREAS, Johnny Guinn will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
2history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
3 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
4of his life, Representative Guinn merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
5contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as a member of the Louisiana House
6of Representatives.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable John E. "Johnny" Guinn; does
9hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
10particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
11has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
12in the parishes of Calcasieu and Jefferson Davis and the citizens of the state of Louisiana;
13and does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has
14dedicated his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community,
15and state.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
17expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Guinn for his service to the citizens of
18Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
19body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all of his colleagues for continued
20prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
22to the Honorable John E. "Johnny" Guinn.
