COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable A B
Franklin for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions to
his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable A B Franklin and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to Calcasieu Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly
4 during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
5 Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, A B Franklin is a notable public servant who has served with excellence
7as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has fully used
8every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 34 and the state in an honorable and
9dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Franklin is a graduate of the former W. O. Boston High
11School; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Franklin has been a proud member of the Acadiana
13Delegation, Black Caucus, Democratic Caucus, and Rural Caucus, for which he served on
14the executive committee; and
15 WHEREAS, Representative Franklin's diligent committee service has included
16serving as a member of the House Committee on Health and Welfare, the House Committee
17on Insurance, the House Committee on Judiciary, and the House Committee on
18Transportation, Highways and Public Works; and
19 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative
20Franklin has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and

1 WHEREAS, A B Franklin will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
2history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
3 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
4of his life, Representative Franklin merits a sincere measure of commendation for his
5singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of
6the Louisiana House of Representatives.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable A B Franklin; does hereby
9extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly
10during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
11marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in
12Calcasieu Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to
13him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his
14energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
16expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Franklin for his service to the citizens of
17Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
18body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
19prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
21to the Honorable A B Franklin.
