HLS 19RS-419 ORIGINAL 2019 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 141 BY REPRESENTATIVE BARRAS COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Dorothy Sue Hill for her outstanding legislative service and recognizes her contributions to her district and the state 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend the Honorable Dorothy Sue Hill and to express enduring gratitude for her 3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, and 4 Vernon and the state of Louisiana, particularly during her tenure as a distinguished 5 member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. 6 WHEREAS, Dorothy Sue Hill is a notable public servant who has served with 7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time she has 8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 32 and the state in an 9honorable and dedicated manner; and 10 WHEREAS, a graduate of Fairview High School, Representative Hill received a 11bachelor of science degree in home economics education from McNeese State University; 12and 13 WHEREAS, Representative Hill has been a proud member of the Democratic 14Caucus, Women's Caucus, and Rural Caucus, for which she served as the secretary, the 15treasurer, and a member of the executive committee; and 16 WHEREAS, Representative Hill's diligent committee service has included being a 17member of the House Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural 18Development, the House Committee on Enrollment, the House Committee on Health and 19Welfare, the House Committee on House and Governmental Affairs, the House Committee Page 1 of 3 HLS 19RS-419 ORIGINAL HR NO. 141 1on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs, and the House Committee on Transportation, 2Highways and Public Works; and 3 WHEREAS, during her time in the House of Representatives, Representative Hill 4has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and 5 WHEREAS, Dorothy Sue Hill will forever have a special place in the chronicles of 6the history of Louisiana, for she is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and 7 WHEREAS, as she prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter 8of her life, Representative Hill merits a sincere measure of commendation for her singular 9contributions and the exemplary strides she has taken as an exceptional member of the 10Louisiana House of Representatives. 11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 12Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Dorothy Sue Hill; does 13hereby extend honor and recognition to her for her outstanding accomplishments, 14particularly during her tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which 15has been marked by her uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of her 16constituents in the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, and Vernon and the citizens of 17the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to her for the generous and effective way 18in which she has dedicated her intelligence and her energy to the service of her family, 19friends, community, and state. 20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby 21expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Hill for her service to the citizens of 22Louisiana, as evidenced by her superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished 23body, and does hereby extend to her the best wishes of all her colleagues for continued 24prosperity and success in her future endeavors. 25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 26Honorable Dorothy Sue Hill.
