COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Nancy
Landry for her outstanding legislative service and recognizes her contributions to her
district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Nancy Landry and to express enduring gratitude for her
3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of Lafayette and Vermilion, and the state
4 of Louisiana, particularly during her tenure as a distinguished member of the
5 Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Nancy Landry is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2009, during which time she has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 31 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Landry received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology
11and a juris doctor degree from Louisiana State University; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Landry has been a proud member of the Acadiana
13Delegation, for which she served as vice-chairman; Republican Delegation; Rural Caucus;
14and Women's Caucus, for which she served as treasurer and parliamentarian; and
15 WHEREAS, Representative Landry's diligent committee service has included serving
16as the chairman of the House Committee on Education and vice-chairman of the House
17Committee on Civil Law and Procedure, and she has served as a member of the House
18Committee on House and Governmental Affairs, the House Committee on Judiciary, and the
19House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment; and

1 WHEREAS, during her time in the House of Representatives, Representative Landry
2has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
3 WHEREAS, Nancy Landry will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
4history of Louisiana, for she is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
5 WHEREAS, as she prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
6of her life, Representative Landry merits a sincere measure of commendation for her singular
7contributions and the exemplary strides she has taken as an exceptional member of the
8Louisiana House of Representatives.
9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
10Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Nancy Landry; does hereby
11extend honor and recognition to her for her outstanding accomplishments, particularly during
12her tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been marked
13by her uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of her constituents in the parishes
14of Lafayette and Vermilion and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay
15tribute to her for the generous and effective way in which she has dedicated her intelligence
16and her energy to the service of her family, friends, community, and state.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
18expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Landry for her service to the citizens of
19Louisiana, as evidenced by her superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
20body, and does hereby extend to her the best wishes of all her colleagues for continued
21prosperity and success in her future endeavors.
22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
23Honorable Nancy Landry.
