HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 164

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable Nancy Landry and to express enduring gratitude for her
outstanding contributions to the parishes of Lafayette and Vermilion, and the state
of Louisiana, particularly during her tenure as a distinguished member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
WHEREAS, Nancy Landry is a notable public servant who has served with
excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2009, during which time she has
fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 31 and the state in an
honorable and dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, Representative Landry received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology
and a juris doctor degree from Louisiana State University; and
WHEREAS, Representative Landry has been a proud member of the Acadiana
Delegation, for which she served as vice-chairman; Republican Delegation; Rural Caucus;
and Women's Caucus, for which she served as treasurer and parliamentarian; and
WHEREAS, Representative Landry's diligent committee service has included serving
as the chairman of the House Committee on Education and vice-chairman of the House
Committee on Civil Law and Procedure, and she has served as a member of the House
Committee on House and Governmental Affairs, the House Committee on Judiciary, and the
House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment; and
WHEREAS, during her time in the House of Representatives, Representative Landry
has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
WHEREAS, Nancy Landry will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
history of Louisiana, for she is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and

WHEREAS, as she prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of her life, Representative Landry merits a sincere measure of commendation for her singular
contributions and the exemplary strides she has taken as an exceptional member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Nancy Landry; does hereby
extend honor and recognition to her for her outstanding accomplishments, particularly during
her tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been marked
by her uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of her constituents in the parishes
of Lafayette and Vermilion and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay
tribute to her for the generous and effective way in which she has dedicated her intelligence
and her energy to the service of her family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Landry for her service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by her superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and does hereby extend to her the best wishes of all her colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Honorable Nancy Landry.
