A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable Stephen F. "Steve" Carter and to express enduring gratitude for
his outstanding contributions to East Baton Rouge Parish and the state of Louisiana,
particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
Representatives.
WHEREAS, Steve Carter is a notable public servant who has served with excellence
as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has fully used
every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 68 and the state in an honorable and
dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, Representative Carter received a bachelor of arts degree from Louisiana
State University; and
WHEREAS, Representative Carter has been a proud member of the Capital Region
and Republican Delegations; and
WHEREAS, Representative Carter's diligent committee service has included serving
as the chairman of the House Committee on Education, the vice-chairman of the House
Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, and a member of the House

Committee on Municipal, Parochial, and Cultural Affairs, and the House Committee on
Ways and Means; and
WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Carter
has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
WHEREAS, Steve Carter will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of his life, Representative Carter merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Stephen F. "Steve" Carter;
does hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
in East Baton Rouge Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay
tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence
and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Carter for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Honorable Stephen F. "Steve" Carter.
