COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Michael
"Kirk" Talbot for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions
to his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Michael "Kirk" Talbot and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to Jefferson Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly
4 during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
5 Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Kirk Talbot is a notable public servant who has served with excellence
7as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has fully used
8every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 78 and the state in an honorable and
9dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Talbot earned his bachelor of arts in business
11administration from the University of Mississippi; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Talbot has been a proud member of the Jefferson Parish
13Delegation and the Republican Delegation; and
14 WHEREAS, Representative Talbot's diligent committee service has included serving
15as the chairman and vice-chairman of the House Committee on Commerce, the chairman of
16the House Committee on Insurance, and a member of the House Committee on Labor and
17Industrial Relations, the House Committee on Retirement, and the Select Committee on
18Hurricane Recovery; and
19 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Talbot
20has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and

1 WHEREAS, Kirk Talbot will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
2history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
3 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
4of his life, Representative Talbot merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
5contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
6Louisiana House of Representatives.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Michael "Kirk" Talbot; does
9hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
10particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
11has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
12in Jefferson Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to
13him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his
14energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
16expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Talbot for his service to the citizens of
17Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
18body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
19prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
21Honorable Michael "Kirk" Talbot.
