COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Thomas G.
Carmody, Jr., for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions
to his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Thomas G. Carmody, Jr., and to express enduring gratitude for
3 his outstanding contributions to the parishes of Bossier and Caddo, and the state of
4 Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana
5 House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Thomas G. Carmody, Jr., is a notable public servant who has served
7with excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he
8has fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 6 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, a graduate of Jesuit High School, Representative Carmody received a
11bachelor of fine arts degree from Louisiana State University; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Carmody has been a proud member of the North
13Louisiana and Republican Delegations and Rural Caucus; and
14 WHEREAS, Representative Carmody's diligent committee service has included
15serving as chairman of the House Committee on Commerce and a member of the House
16Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development, the House
17Committee on Education, the House Committee on Enrollment, and the House Committee
18on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs; and
19 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative
20Carmody has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and

1 WHEREAS, Thomas G. Carmody, Jr., will forever have a special place in the
2chronicles of the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public
3servants; and
4 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
5of his life, Representative Carmody merits a sincere measure of commendation for his
6singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of
7the Louisiana House of Representatives.
8 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
9Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Thomas G. Carmody, Jr.;
10does hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
11particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
12has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
13in the parishes of Bossier and Caddo and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does
14hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his
15intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
17expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Carmody for his service to the citizens of
18Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
19body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
20prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
22Honorable Thomas G. Carmody, Jr.
