HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 188
BY REPRESENTATIVE BARRAS
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Cameron
Henry for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions to his
district and the state
1	A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable J. Cameron Henry, Jr., and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of Jefferson and Orleans and the state of
4 Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana
5 House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, J. Cameron Henry, Jr., is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 82 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, a graduate of Jesuit High School, Representative Henry earned his
11bachelor of science in political science from Louisiana State University and his master of
12business administration from Tulane University; and
13 WHEREAS, Representative Henry has been a proud member of the Jefferson Parish
14and Republican Delegations; and
15 WHEREAS, Representative Henry's diligent committee service has included serving
16as the vice-chairman and chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations and chairman
17of the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, and being a member of the House
18Committee on Civil Law and Procedure, the House Committee on Education, the House
19Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations, the House Committee on Ways and Means,
20the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay, the Legislative Audit Advisory Council,

1the Legislative Budgetary Control Council, the Special Committee on Military and Veterans
2Affairs, and the State Bond Commission; and
3 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Henry
4has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
5 WHEREAS, J. Cameron Henry, Jr., will forever have a special place in the
6chronicles of the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public
7servants; and
8 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
9of his life, Representative Henry merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
10contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as a member of the Louisiana House
11of Representatives.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
13Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable J. Cameron Henry, Jr.; does
14hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
15particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
16has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
17in the parishes of Jefferson and Orleans and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does
18hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his
19intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
21expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Henry for his service to the citizens of
22Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
23body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
24prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
26Honorable J. Cameron Henry, Jr.
