HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 191
BY REPRESENTATIVE LARVADAIN
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends Rapides Parish for being declared Most Physically Fit
Parish in the state in 2019
1	A RESOLUTION
2To commend Rapides Parish upon its declaration by the Governor's Council on Physical
3 Fitness and Sports as the Most Physically Fit Parish in the state.
4 WHEREAS, in all, twenty-two parishes competed in the 2019 Elementary State
5Championship Fitness Meet; Rapides Parish won a record-breaking fourth consecutive
6championship; and
7 WHEREAS, student participants from the parish excelled in events such as the
8shuttle run, pull-ups, and sit-ups to clinch the victory away from Lafayette Parish, which
9finished second, and Caddo Parish, which placed third; and
10 WHEREAS, two standout team members were Aubree Davis and Jacob Dean,
11crowned Miss Fitness and Mr. Fitness, respectively, for their high scores in the elementary
12girls and boys events; and
13 WHEREAS, the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports has declared
14Rapides Parish as the Most Physically Fit Parish in Louisiana, and participants in the
15competition held this spring deserve to be commended for being physically fit and leading
16healthy lives.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Rapides Parish upon its declaration by the
19Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports as the Most Physically Fit Parish in the
20state; does hereby commend Aubree Davis and Jacob Dean for their fitness achievements;

1and does hereby urge Louisiana citizens to engage in fitness and sports and make health a
2priority.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
4school board of Rapides Parish.
