COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable John F.
"Andy" Anders for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his
contributions to his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable John F. "Andy" Anders and to express enduring gratitude for
3 his outstanding contributions to the parishes of Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll,
4 Madison, and Tensas, and the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a
5 distinguished member and the dean of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, John F. "Andy" Anders is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2006, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 21 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Anders received a bachelor of science degree in
11agricultural business from Louisiana Tech University; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Anders has been a proud member of the Democratic
13Caucus, North Louisiana Delegation, and Rural Caucus, for which he has served on the
14executive committee since 2015; and
15 WHEREAS, Representative Anders's diligent committee service has included serving
16as the chairman and the vice-chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, Forestry,
17Aquaculture, and Rural Development, and he has served as a member of the House
18Committee on Commerce, the House Committee on Health and Welfare, the House
19Committee on Insurance, the House Select Committee on Homeland Security, and the Joint
20Committee on Homeland Security; and

1 WHEREAS, Representative Anders also served as the dean of the House with great
2pride and honor; and
3 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Anders
4has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
5 WHEREAS, John F. "Andy" Anders will forever have a special place in the
6chronicles of the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public
7servants; and
8 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
9of his life, Representative Anders merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
10contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
11Louisiana House of Representatives.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
13Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable John F. "Andy" Anders; does
14hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
15particularly during his tenure as a member and the dean of the Louisiana House of
16Representatives, which has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the
17welfare of his constituents in the parishes of Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Madison,
18and Tensas and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him for
19the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to
20the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
22expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Anders for his service to the citizens of
23Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
24body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
25prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
27Honorable John F. "Andy" Anders.
