HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 221
BY REPRESENTATIVE LYONS
A RESOLUTION
To commend Dominion and Power Ministries upon its twentieth anniversary.
WHEREAS, on May 2, 1999, Dominion and Power Ministries conducted its first
worship service; in its inaugural year, the ministry was blessed to yield the fruit of baptism
in its labors for the Lord and host its first revival; and
WHEREAS, within two years of its birth, Dominion and Power Ministries dedicated
a new building for its activities, began a new members training course, graduated new
members from its training class, and hosted the first midweek service on the radio; and
WHEREAS, Dominion and Power Ministries has acquired property in Scottsdale to
continue its mission of carrying the Gospel to the world, joined Jefferson Cops and Clergy
Coalition, become members of the Full Gospel Fellowship, and participated in the CDC
groundbreaking ceremony to build nine homes; and
WHEREAS, despite damage to its worship facility from storms and a hurricane,
Dominion and Power Ministries used the resources of its fellowship to rebuild each time, led
by Bishop Jerry J. Henry, Sr., who became pastor emeritus in October 2018; and
WHEREAS, on January 1, 2019, Dominion and Power Ministries moved to its
present location at 2209 Lapalco Boulevard in Harvey and is under the leadership of Bishop
Tyrone C. Washington, Sr., its senior pastor; Dominion and Power Ministries is celebrating
twenty years of doing the work of the Lord, transforming, empowering, and equipping
persons through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it is appropriate to commend the pastor and
membership for being willing vessels of God, sowing good seeds into their community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby congratulate Dominion and Power Ministries upon its

twentieth anniversary; does hereby commend its commitment to its ministry and service to
the community; and does hereby offer best thoughts and hopes for continued good harvests.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Bishop Tyrone Washington.
