ENROLLED 2019 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 23 BY REPRESENTATIVE JIM MORRIS A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Jim M. Taylor, retired United States Air Force lieutenant colonel. WHEREAS, the members of the House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death on April 23, 2018, of Jim M. Taylor, lieutenant colonel, retired, United States Air Force; he was seventy-one years old; and WHEREAS, Jim Taylor earned a bachelor's degree from Sul Ross State University and a master's degree from Texas Christian University; he served twenty-two years in the United States Air Force, and during his long military career, he was assigned from the office of the Air Force Inspector General as a B-52 radar navigator and instructor in the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics TR-1/U-2 aircraft; he retired from military service in 1992; and WHEREAS, after his Air Force retirement, Jim Taylor worked in the Caddo public school system, where he was a history teacher until 2008; Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting; and WHEREAS, Jim leaves a legacy of humor and fond memories of a life well lived to his wife of forty-six years, Shelly; their daughter, Heather Watkins, and her husband Jeff; their son, Wes, and his wife Annette; and his granddaughters and nephews. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the family of Jim M. Taylor and does hereby offer best wishes and hopes for comfort to those who mourn his passing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Shelly Taylor.
