A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable H. Bernard LeBas and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to the parishes of Evangeline and St. Landry, and the state
of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
WHEREAS, H. Bernard LeBas is a notable public servant who has served with
excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has
fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 38 and the state in an
honorable and dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Representative LeBas received
a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from Northeast Louisiana University (now known
as the University of Louisiana at Monroe); and
WHEREAS, Representative LeBas has taken on many leadership roles in the Rural
Caucus, serving as chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary/treasurer; he has been a proud
member of the Acadiana Delegation and Democratic Caucus; and
WHEREAS, Representative LeBas's diligent committee service has included serving
as a member of the Atchafalaya Basin Program Oversight Committee, the House Committee
on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development, the House Committee on

Appropriations, the House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and
Human Services, the House Committee on Health and Welfare, and the House Committee
on Transportation, Highways and Public Works; and
WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative LeBas
has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
WHEREAS, H. Bernard LeBas will forever have a special place in the chronicles of
the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of his life, Representative LeBas merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable H. Bernard LeBas; does
hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
in the parishes of Evangeline and St. Landry and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and
does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated
his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative LeBas for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Honorable H. Bernard LeBas.
