"Dee" Richard for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions to his district and the state 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend the Honorable Jerome P. "Dee" Richard and to express enduring gratitude for 3 his outstanding contributions to Lafourche Parish and the state of Louisiana, 4 particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of 5 Representatives. 6 WHEREAS, Dee Richard is a notable public servant who has served with excellence 7as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has fully used 8every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 55 and the state in an honorable and 9dedicated manner; and 10 WHEREAS, a graduate of Thibodaux High School, Representative Richard received 11a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana State University; and 12 WHEREAS, Representative Richard has been a proud member of the Rural Caucus, 13for which he served as a member of the executive committee; and 14 WHEREAS, Representative Richard's diligent committee service has included being 15a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, the House Committee on 16Appropriations Subcommittee on Elementary and Secondary Education, the House 17Committee on Education, the House Committee on House and Governmental Affairs, the 18House Committee on Insurance, the House Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations, 19the House Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs, the House Committee Page 1 of 3 HLS 19RS-407 ORIGINAL HR NO. 241 1on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, the House Committee on Ways and Means, 2and the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget; and 3 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Richard 4has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and 5 WHEREAS, Dee Richard will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the 6history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and 7 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter 8of his life, Representative Richard merits a sincere measure of commendation for his 9singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of 10the Louisiana House of Representatives. 11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 12Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Jerome P. "Dee" Richard; 13does hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, 14particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which 15has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents 16in Lafourche Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute 17to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his 18energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state. 19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby 20expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Richard for his service to the citizens of 21Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished 22body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued 23prosperity and success in his future endeavors. 24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 25Honorable Jerome P.
