COMMENDATIONS: Commends Storm 22 and Seven Seas for their efforts to help
veterans and first responders
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Storm 22 and Seven Seas for their efforts to help veterans and first responders.
3 WHEREAS, Storm 22 is a Louisiana based organization that was founded by
4disabled veterans who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder and that wishes to bring
5more attention to the number of veterans committing suicide and to assist in preventing more
6loss; and
7 WHEREAS, statistically, approximately twenty-two veterans kill themselves every
8day; and
9 WHEREAS, Seven Seas is a family owned scuba diving company in Baton Rouge
10providing a full service store catering to divers and snorkelers; and
11 WHEREAS, Storm 22 and Seven Seas have formed a partnership to provide
12constructive outlets to veterans and first responders by providing a caring and close-knit
13community, teaching new skills that create positive experiences, and giving these selfless
14individuals the opportunity to experience the beauty of underwater adventures; and
15 WHEREAS, together these organizations provide an incredible opportunity for men
16and women to begin a new and exciting journey into a world of physical activity and
17emotional support; together they hope to make a difference.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Storm 22 and Seven Seas for their valiant
20efforts in aiding our veterans and first responders; do hereby offer our support for their

1efforts to raise awareness of suicide; and do hereby extend best wishes to the organizations
2in their teamwork and compassion.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
4to Sean Prados and Nancy Cohagen.
