HLS 19RS-3535 ORIGINAL 2019 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 269 BY REPRESENTATIVE BISHOP COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard for service to the community 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard for service to the community. 3 WHEREAS, established in March 2014, the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard 4(AVHG) is a nonprofit organization that works to address the needs of honorably discharged 5veterans in the southwest Louisiana area, including ensuring that every veteran has military 6funeral honors and providing flag presentations for memorial events; and 7 WHEREAS, AVHG volunteers take every opportunity to recognize people in the 8Lafayette community and surrounding areas who were willing to sacrifice their lives for our 9country; and 10 WHEREAS, all five branches of the military are represented in the membership of 11the organization; and 12 WHEREAS, Commander Harold Borel and Vice Commander Adam Mouton are 13deserving of recognition for their leadership and unwavering dedication to the organization 14and its mission; and 15 WHEREAS, the work of AVHG is admirable and commendable as it shows the 16respect we all have for the men and women who contributed so much to the citizens of the 17state of Louisiana and the entire nation. 18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard for 20service to the community; does hereby express gratitude to Commander Harold Borel and 21Vice Commander Adam Mouton for upholding the highest traditions of honor and Page 1 of 2 HLS 19RS-3535 ORIGINAL HR NO. 269 1patriotism; and does hereby commend this volunteer-run, nonprofit organization for 2acknowledging and honoring veterans of southwest Louisiana. 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 4Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard.
