ENROLLED 2019 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 269 BY REPRESENTATIVE BISHOP A RESOLUTION To commend the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard for service to the community. WHEREAS, established in March 2014, the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard (AVHG) is a nonprofit organization that works to address the needs of honorably discharged veterans in the southwest Louisiana area, including ensuring that every veteran has military funeral honors and providing flag presentations for memorial events; and WHEREAS, AVHG volunteers take every opportunity to recognize people in the Lafayette community and surrounding areas who were willing to sacrifice their lives for our country; and WHEREAS, all five branches of the military are represented in the membership of the organization; and WHEREAS, Commander Harold Borel and Vice Commander Adam Mouton are deserving of recognition for their leadership and unwavering dedication to the organization and its mission; and WHEREAS, the work of AVHG is admirable and commendable as it shows the respect we all have for the men and women who contributed so much to the citizens of the state of Louisiana and the entire nation. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard for service to the community; does hereby express gratitude to Commander Harold Borel and Vice Commander Adam Mouton for upholding the highest traditions of honor and patriotism; and does hereby commend this volunteer-run, nonprofit organization for acknowledging and honoring veterans of southwest Louisiana.
