COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Breaux Bridge High School boys' basketball team
on winning the 2019 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 4A state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Breaux Bridge High School boys' basketball team upon winning the 2019
3 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 4A state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Breaux Bridge Tigers made history by completing an unforgettable
5season and earning the title of 2019 Class 4A state champions; and
6 WHEREAS, the number three-seeded Tigers were up against the number one-seeded
7Bossier Bearkats, and the Tigers defeated the Bearkats 61-58 to clinch the school's first ever
8state basketball championship; and
9 WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence
10throughout the 2018-2019 regular season and playoffs, amassing a record of thirty-two wins;
11and
12 WHEREAS, the team's amazing feats could not have been achieved without the
13unwavering dedication, support, and guidance of Head Coach Chad Pourciau and Athletic
14Director Brian Ellender, as well as the passion of the many supporters of the Tigers who
15contributed to the success of the school's basketball program; and
16 WHEREAS, all alumni and fans recognize the tremendous honor, pride, and joy that
17the team brings to Breaux Bridge High School, St. Martin Parish, and the state of Louisiana.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Breaux Bridge High School boys'
20basketball team upon winning the 2019 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class

14A state championship; does hereby record for posterity this exceptional team's triumph in
2the great sport of basketball; and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and
3everyone involved with this fine basketball program as they celebrate their championship
4season and prepare for continued success in the future.
5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
6Coach Chad Pourciau.
