ENROLLED 2019 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 319 BY REPRESENTATIVE BAGNERIS A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Albert George Johnson, Sr. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the House of Representatives learned of the death on May 30, 2019, of the uncle of State Representative John H. Bagneris and distinguished gentleman and centenarian, Albert George Johnson, Sr.; and WHEREAS, born to Harry and Marie Love Johnson, Albert, Sr., was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and a parishioner of Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church for seventy years; he retired from the United States Postal Service after forty-one years of dedicated and diligent service as a postal and rural letter carrier; and WHEREAS, he and his beloved wife of forty-seven years, Myrtle DeSalle Johnson, were the devoted parents of Sandra Johnson Thomas, Carol Johnson Gibson, Albert Johnson, Jr., Eric Johnson, Sr., Anita Johnson Howard, David Johnson, Kathleen Johnson Clayton, Kevin Johnson, Louis Johnson, Dr. Anthony Johnson, Germaine Johnson, Claire Johnson Simmons, and Alicia Johnson; and WHEREAS, Albert George Johnson, Sr., is survived by thirty-four grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and WHEREAS, although the family and friends of Albert George Johnson, Sr., will mourn his loss, their lives were greatly enriched by his passing their way; each will share fond recollections of the life and times of Albert George Johnson, Sr., a proud member of the exclusive Louisiana centenarian club, now gone to his eternal rest. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend sincerest condolences on the passing of Albert Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 319 ENROLLED George Johnson, Sr., and does hereby express hopes for his family and friends to find peace at his departure.
