COMMENDATIONS: Commends Mary Coombs on her induction into the Pro-Am Hall
of Fame for ballroom dancing
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Mary Coombs on her induction into the Pro-Am Hall of Fame for ballroom
3 dancing.
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Mary Coombs of Loranger, Louisiana, on
5her induction into the Pro-Am Hall of Fame for ballroom dancing; and
6 WHEREAS, Mary won first place for all seven of her theatrically produced show
7dances at the Millennium Dancesport competition in New Orleans in June 2018; and
8 WHEREAS, Mary has been dancing since she was two years old and has been
9dancing at the Louisiana Ballroom in Hammond for five years; and
10 WHEREAS, her wins were recognized by notable dance professionals such as Mary
11Murphy, Mark Balls, and Sam Sodano; and
12 WHEREAS, success at the highest levels of competition requires tremendous
13dedication and countless hours of hard work, and Mary Coombs's induction into the Hall of
14Fame signifies her unwavering commitment to the art and the craft of ballroom dancing.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Mary Coombs on her
17induction into the Pro-Am Hall of Fame of ballroom dancing and does hereby extend best
18wishes for success in future competition.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
20to Mary Coombs.
