HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 70

COMMENDATIONS: Commends Seth Bode for his numerous accomplishments
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Seth Bode for his numerous accomplishments.
3 WHEREAS, Seth Bode is a warm and friendly twenty-four-year-old from Jefferson
4Parish; with the support of his younger brother Parker, a senior at Rummel High School, and
5his parents Patrick and Bebe, he helps run their family business, Pirogue Praline Company;
6he is the self-proclaimed "Praline King" and is the face of the company; and
7 WHEREAS, Pirogue Praline is not Seth's first employer; Ronnie Mains, the owner
8of CRC Global Solutions, in Kenner, hired him, creating a position for him that would cater
9to his skills and strengths as an individual who was born on the autism spectrum; and
10 WHEREAS, autism, which can be present from birth or form during early childhood,
11is a lifelong developmental disability with no single known cause; an estimated one in fifty-
12nine children in the United States are affected by autism; thirty-five percent of young adults
13aged nineteen to twenty-three diagnosed with autism are not employed, and are eager and
14excited to work but struggle to fit into a hiring and recruitment process that is fundamentally
15social; and
16 WHEREAS, Patrick Bode, Bebe Bode, and Ronnie Mains all saw potential in Seth
17Bode and fostered nurturing environments for him to develop into a thriving professional;
18and
19 WHEREAS, like most parents, Patrick and Bebe wanted a place for their child to feel
20included and valued; Pirogue Praline is a space where Seth can experience the joys of

1success and self-sufficiency; a goal of Seth's parents' is to hire more persons with disabilities
2as the company grows; and
3 WHEREAS, Seth Bode is deserving of recognition for holding down two jobs, a feat
4many people will never attempt to do, and for seizing opportunity by pursuing
5entrepreneurship through his family business.
6 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
7Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Seth Bode for his numerous
8accomplishments; does hereby recognize his drive as an entrepreneur and a CRC Global
9Solutions employee; and does hereby extend to Seth best wishes for his continued success
10and happiness in his future endeavors.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
12to Seth Bode.
