HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 71

COMMENDATIONS:  Commends Ronnie Mains for service to his community
1	A RESOLUTION
2To commend Ronnie Mains for service to his community.
3 WHEREAS, Ronnie Mains is the owner of CRC Global Solutions, a transportation
4management company in Kenner, Louisiana, and in 2017, he was named a member of the
5Port of New Orleans Economic Development Task Force; and
6 WHEREAS, Mr. Mains makes giving back to his community a top priority; CRC's
7We Care! We Share! is a reflection of that, a nonprofit corporation proudly working with
8organizations like American Cancer Society, National Leukemia Society, New Orleans
9Blood Bank, and Relay for Life; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Mains is an advocate for individuals with autism, including one of
11CRC's outstanding employees, Seth Bode; CRC Global Solutions hosted an event
12recognizing World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, 2019, in Kenner, Louisiana; and
13 WHEREAS, April is National Autism Awareness Month, the aim of which is to
14educate the public about autism, or autism spectrum disorder, which refers to a broad range
15of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and
16nonverbal communication; and
17 WHEREAS, thirty-five percent of young adults aged nineteen to twenty-three
18diagnosed with autism are not employed, and are eager and excited to work but struggle to
19fit into a hiring and recruitment process that is fundamentally social; and
20 WHEREAS, an increased number of organizations are establishing hiring and
21recruiting campaigns with the large population of potential employees in mind; there is a

1need for more employers to update their hiring processes and training programs to include
2autistic employees, as well as to raise awareness of autism; and 
3 WHEREAS, hiring a diverse workforce, including those with autism, offers benefits
4to organizations and those individuals who might otherwise be overlooked. 
5 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
6Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Ronnie Mains for service to his community;
7does hereby recognize and record for posterity his inclusive hiring practices; and does
8hereby wish Mr. Mains continued success at CRC Global Solutions and in his advocacy and
9charitable work which has a lasting impact for the citizens of the city of Kenner and the state
10of Louisiana.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
12to Ronnie Mains.
