SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes April 25, 2019, as Forum 35 Day at the state
capitol and commends its members
1 A RESOLUTION
2To recognize Thursday, April 25, 2019, as Forum 35 Day at the state capitol and to
3 commend the members of Forum 35.
4 WHEREAS, founded in 1933, Forum 35, a young professionals organization
5dedicated to improving and shaping Baton Rouge, inspires its members to become more
6involved with philanthropic organizations and activities; and
7 WHEREAS, over the past twenty-six years, Forum 35 has expanded its membership
8to over three hundred members; and
9 WHEREAS, Forum 35 hosts and participates in many valuable initiatives and events,
10including Forum Friday, John W. Barton Sr. Community Leadership Development Program,
11Uncorked, Public Education Project, Leadership Hour, service committee projects, cultural
12diversity forums, and various member socials; and
13 WHEREAS, Forum 35 is committed to community service and actively contributes
14to the educational, civic, and social life of the citizens of Baton Rouge and Louisiana; and
15 WHEREAS, Forum 35 members regularly speak out on major issues and volunteer
16thousands of hours in the community; and
17 WHEREAS, Forum 35 works with corporate partners in the Baton Rouge community
18to bolster the organization's ability to serve as a recruitment, retention, and development tool
19of young professionals for corporations in the capitol region; and
20 WHEREAS, Forum 35 does not endorse candidates for public office but does
21encourage its members to vote, regardless of individual political beliefs; and

1 WHEREAS, Forum 35 Day at the state capitol allows members to speak with their
2legislators to address issues that are pertinent to the Baton Rouge community and to the state
3of Louisiana; and
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the members of Forum 35 for their
5dedication to the core pillars of arts and culture, leadership, and cultural diversity.
6 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
7Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Thursday, April 25, 2019, as Forum 35 Day
8at the state capitol and does hereby commend and express enduring appreciation to the
9members of Forum 35 for the tremendous honor and pride that they bring to the Baton
10Rouge community and to the state of Louisiana.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
12Forum 35 board of directors.
