SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes April 30, 2019, as Greater New Orleans,
Inc., NextGen Day at the state capitol
1 A RESOLUTION
2To recognize Tuesday, April 30, 2019, as Greater New Orleans, Inc., NextGen Day at the
3 state capitol.
4 WHEREAS, formed in 2012, the NextGen Council is an initiative that introduces
5new leadership into the Greater New Orleans, Inc. organization by utilizing the vigor and
6ideas of emerging regional leaders; and
7 WHEREAS, the NextGen Council seeks to develop future economic leaders for both
8GNO, Inc., and the region; and
9 WHEREAS, the NextGen Council is composed of the next generation of business
10and community leaders in the greater New Orleans region; and
11 WHEREAS, the NextGen Council focuses on producing outcomes on issues and
12projects that are congruent with the GNO, Inc.'s overall mission; and
13 WHEREAS, the NextGen Council promotes positive relationships and partnerships
14between GNO, Inc., and the region's business and community organizations; and
15 WHEREAS, the NextGen Council is holding NextGen Day at the state capitol in an
16effort to educate members of the Legislature on policy matters important to development and
17job growth in Louisiana.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Tuesday, April 30, 2019, as Greater New
20Orleans, Inc., NextGen Day at the state capitol and does hereby commend these young

1professionals for their commitment to economic development and job creation in greater
2New Orleans and the state of Louisiana.
