COMMENDATIONS: Commends the St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School
girls' basketball team on winning the 2019 Louisiana High School Athletic
Association Division III State Championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School girls' basketball team
3 for winning the 2019 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division III State
4 Championship.
5 WHEREAS, the team from Hammond distinguished themselves by making it to the
6Louisiana High School Athletic Association Top 28 Tournament at the Rapides Coliseum
7in Alexandria; and
8 WHEREAS, the alumni and fans of St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High
9School are proud of the team and the distinction the Lady Falcons brought upon the city of
10Hammond and Tangipahoa Parish by defeating the Northlake Christian School Lady
11Wolverines; and
12 WHEREAS, the thrilling victory marks their third state championship; and
13 WHEREAS, the student athletes performed at the highest level of excellence
14throughout the season, and each of these talented Lady Falcons deserves recognition for her
15vital contributions to the winning effort: seniors, Caroline Ingraffia, Sadie McGowan, and
16Zavier Weary; juniors, Kayla Keller, Lilly Maggio, Cadyn Reed, Jyra Richard, and Marley
17Vinet; sophomores, Jerenia Baham, Halle Bouffard, Jade Brumfield, Caroline Eschete,
18Jaylyn James, and Abigail Potrament; and freshmen, Breanna Becerra, Madison Mark, and
19Jourdan St. Romain; and

1 WHEREAS, Coaches Eddie Fisher and Courtney Silewicz have instilled an ethic of
2winning in these student athletes and have demonstrated leadership and motivational skills
3that have led to success both on and off the court.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic
6High School girls' basketball team for winning the 2019 Louisiana High School Athletic
7Association Division III State Championship and does hereby recognize the team's
8outstanding performance and the pride and honor they have brought to their school and
9community.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
11Coaches Eddie Fisher and Courtney Silewicz.
