Present law authorizes the police jury organizing the drainage district to appoint five commissioners
in each district.
Present law provides as an exception that the governing authority of Livingston Parish shall appoint
seven commissioners for Gravity Drainage District No. 2.
Proposed law requires the governing authority of Livingston Parish to increase the number of board
commissioners from five to seven for Gravity Drainage District No. 5.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
