Proposed constitutional amendment, effective July 1, 2020, establishes a state minimum hourly wage
that every employer shall be required to pay each employee of nine dollars. Authorizes the legislature
to, provide by law for an increase in the hourly rate, as well as exemptions from the minimum wage
requirement.
Specifies submission of the amendment to the voters at the statewide election to be held on October
12, 2019.
