New law requires the La. Department of Health to enforce the U.S. FDA's standard of
identity for milk, the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance, and the provisions of new law to prohibit
the sale of plant-based products mislabeled as milk.
New law provides a definition of "milk".
Provides that new law shall be enforced when the U.S. FDA begins to enforce the standards
of identity for milk.
New law exempts breast milk from provisions of proposed law.
Effective August 1, 2019.
