PUBLIC LANDS. Authorizes the Louisiana Department of Health to sell or transfer title
to certain property. (8/1/19)
1 AN ACT
2 To authorize and empower the Louisiana Department of Health to sell or transfer title to
3 certain described property, together with all buildings and improvements thereon,
4 located in the parish of Vernon; to provide for the property description; to provide
5 for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; and to provide for
6 related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. The commissioner of administration and the secretary of the
9 Louisiana Department of Health, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the
10 contrary, are hereby authorized and empowered, for and on behalf of the state of
11 Louisiana, to convey, transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any interest, excluding mineral
12 rights, the state may have to all or any portion of the following described property,
13 together with any buildings and improvements thereon, to the Museum of America's
14 Training Ground, Inc.:
15 PARCEL ONE: Blocks Fifty-Two (52) and Fifty-seven (57) of the West
16 side Addition to the Town of Leesville, Louisiana.
17 PARCEL TWO: Begin at the Southwest corner of Block Fifty-two (52)

1 of the West side Addition to the Town of Leesville, Louisiana, thence West
2 extending in a straight line with the south boundary line of said Block a distance
3 of 332 ½ feet to the West line of Section 23, Township 2 North, Range 9 West,
4 then North along the West line of said Section 23, a distance of 439 ½ feet;
5 thence East in a straight line with North boundary line of Block 57 of West side
6 Addition to the Town of Leesville, a distance of 321 ½ feet, thence South along
7 the West boundary line of Blocks 57 and 52 of the West Side Addition to the
8 Town of Leesville a distance of 452 feet to place of beginning. Containing 4.47
9 acres, more or less.
10 PARCEL THREE: Begin at a point 45.7 feet South of south-east corner
11 of NE 1/4 of NE 1/4, Section 22, Township 2 North, Range 9 West, and run
12 South 614 feet, West 317 feet, North 614 feet and East 317 feet to point of
13 beginning, containing 4.468 acres, more or less.
14 PARCEL FOUR: Beginning at the Northwest corner of Block 51, West
15 Side Addition, to the Town of Leesville, Louisiana and from thence run West
16 200 feet for point of beginning, thence West 153 feet, thence south 100 feet,
17 thence East 153 feet, thence North 100 feet to point of beginning. Acquired by
18 deed dated September 27, 1922, recorded in COB 153, 419, of the Records of
19 Vernon Parish, Louisiana.
20 Section 2. The commissioner of administration and the secretary of the
21 Louisiana Department of Health, on behalf of the state of Louisiana and the Louisiana
22 Department of Health, are hereby authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants,
23 conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents as necessary to properly
24 effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of title, excluding
25 mineral rights, to the property described in Section 1, and as more specifically
26 described in any such agreements entered into and documents executed by and between
27 the commissioner of administration, the secretary of the Louisiana Department of
28 Health, and the Museum of America's Training Ground, Inc., in exchange of
29 consideration proportionate to at least the appraised value of the property.
