SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 119
BY SENATOR DONAHUE 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends the Holy Cross Swimming Tigers for winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division II State Swimming Championship in
boys swimming.
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend the Holy Cross Swimming Tigers for winning the Louisiana High School
3 Athletic Association Division II State Swimming Championship in boys swimming.
4 WHEREAS, the Holy Cross Swimming Tigers dominated the field of twenty-two
5 teams at the Division II State Championship at the SPAR Aquatic Center in Sulphur,
6 Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, the Swimming Tigers started the meet winning the 200 medley relay
8 (Coleman, Rivera, Caffery, and Price); Lane Coleman went on to win and set Division II
9 records in the 50 free and 100 fly; and
10 WHEREAS, Antonio Rivera captured two individual golds in the 200 IM and 100
11 breast; Maximillen Caffery would go on to take second in both the 100 fly and 100 back;
12 David Price took third in both the 200 IM and 100 free; and
13 WHEREAS, sophomore Carson Doll took first in the 500 free, being the only
14 swimmer to go sub 5:00 (4:55) and took second in the 200 free; Jonah Munch took third in
15 the 200 free; Casey Miller took third in the 500 free; and
16 WHEREAS, on November 17, 2018, under the direction of Head Coach Dale Turner
17 and Swim Coach Melissa Deokaran, the Swimming Tigers finished the night the same way
18 they started by dominating the 400 freestyle relay; and

1 WHEREAS, the Swimming Tigers relay team consists of Coleman, Price, Caffery,
2 and Rivera and they were over five seconds ahead of the second place team; and
3 WHEREAS, the Swimming Tigers accumulated 423 points, while the second place
4 team scored 274; and
5 WHEREAS, the Holy Cross Swimming Tigers, its coaches, and fans can celebrate
6 a dominating victory by winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State
7 Division II Championship in boys swimming.
8 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
9 commend and congratulate the Holy Cross Swimming Tigers for winning the Louisiana
10 High School Athletic Association Division II Championship in boys swimming.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
12 Head Coach Dale Turner and Swim Coach Melissa Deokaran.
