COMMENDATIONS. Recognizes Thursday, April 25, 2019, as Junior League Day at the
state capitol and commends the Junior League for its contributions to the state of Louisiana.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To recognize Thursday, April 25, 2019, as Junior League Day at the state capitol and to
3 commend the Junior League for its contributions to the state of Louisiana.
4 WHEREAS, the Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting
5 volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the
6 action and leadership of trained volunteers; and
7 WHEREAS, the Junior League as an organization is educational and charitable in
8 nature; and
9 WHEREAS, the Junior League's vision is to encourage women to use their leadership
10 training and expertise to be catalysts for lasting change and to make sustainable
11 improvements in our communities; and
12 WHEREAS, the eight Louisiana leagues and more than seven thousand three
13 hundred Junior League members continue to impact the lives of residents across Louisiana
14 through the contributions made by the league's trained volunteers; and
15 WHEREAS, Junior League chapters across the state have made significant financial
16 investments through their community assistance funds, which grant money to nonprofit
17 agencies and community projects that enhance quality of life and contribute to civic vitality.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby

1 recognize Thursday, April 25, 2019, as Junior League Day at the state capitol and does
2 hereby commend the dynamic women of the Junior League for their leadership, volunteer
3 service, community impact, and financial investments in the great state of Louisiana.
