COMMENDATIONS. Commends Hailey Enamorado on being named a Distinguished
Finalist in Louisiana for the 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend Hailey Enamorado on being named a Distinguished Finalist in Louisiana for
3 the 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program.
4 WHEREAS, the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program represents the
5 United States' largest youth recognition program based solely on volunteer service; and
6 WHEREAS, all public and private middle and high schools in the country, as well
7 as all Girl Scout councils, county 4-H organizations, American Red Cross chapters, YMCAs,
8 and affiliates of Points of Light's HandsOn Network, were eligible to select a student or
9 member for a local Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and
10 WHEREAS, this prestigious award, presented by Prudential Financial, Inc. in
11 partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young
12 volunteers across the country who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to
13 serving their communities; and
14 WHEREAS, the nationwide program, in its twenty-fourth year, recognizes young
15 people for outstanding, self-initiated community service; and
16 WHEREAS, Hailey Enamorado is a fifteen-year-old sophomore at Denham Springs
17 High School who created "Hailey's Heroes", an initiative that raised funds and provided
18 volunteer support for veterans and active duty military members; and

1 WHEREAS, Hailey was inspired by a story of a relative who went missing in action
2 in World War II and she made it her mission to help her peers discover what it means to be
3 a hero; and
4 WHEREAS, she also brought awareness to causes such as pediatric cancer and
5 remediation after flooding in her hometown; and
6 WHEREAS, this extraordinary young woman exemplifies the spirit of community
7 that is so important to the future of our state and country; and
8 WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,
9 and the overall vitality of American society depends, in great measure, upon the dedication
10 of young people like Hailey Enamorado who use their compassion and considerable talent
11 to assist others.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
13 commend and congratulate Hailey Enamorado on being chosen as one of the Distinguished
14 Finalists for the 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards; does hereby recognize her
15 outstanding record of volunteer service, peer leadership, and community spirit; and does
16 hereby extend to her best wishes for continued success and happiness in her future
17 endeavors.
18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
19 Hailey Enamorado.
