SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 104

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Kid Energy USA on their efforts to educate children on
safety and awareness in the petroleum industry.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Kid Energy USA on their efforts to educate children on safety and awareness
3 in the petroleum industry.
4 WHEREAS, Kid Energy USA is a leading provider of children's entertainment with
5 the purpose of specializing in safety and awareness in the petroleum industry, particularly
6 in emphasizing the importance of "Call before you dig"; and
7 WHEREAS, Kid Energy USA incorporates STEM-based classroom presentations,
8 interactive media, and publications to improve the manner in which younger audiences
9 absorb and retain critical information; and
10 WHEREAS, with the creation of the characters Burnie & Earl in 2010, Kid Energy
11 USA gained national recognition for their entertaining and engaging promotion of public
12 safety in the oil and gas sector through music, music videos, and animated shorts; and
13 WHEREAS, along with 811 organizations abroad, Kid Energy USA has been an
14 innovator in safe digging education and the development of conscious thinking for
15 generations to come; and
16 WHEREAS, with the approach that the serious nature of safety practices at home and
17 in the workplace should not affect the way we learn those practices, Kid Energy USA allows
18 the mindful instruction of these very practices in the form of fun, creative, and colorful

1 educational tools.
2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
3 does hereby commend Kid Energy USA on their efforts to educate children on safety and
4 awareness in the petroleum industry.
5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
6 Kid Energy USA.
